Reserving an item

If an item is on loan, you may put it on reserve. This means that when the item is returned from being on loan, you will be contacted and the library will hold the item for you to borrow. Once you reserve the item, it cannot be renewed by the current borrower –it has to be returned by the due date.

To put the item on reserve, speak to the library staff at the college where the book is located. You may contact them by phone, or in person at the information desk.

Overdue charges and penalties

The library is committed to the fair sharing of resources between library patrons. For this reason the library has a penalty process for late returns.

Borrowing privileges will be suspended as soon as an item is overdue and until the item is returned, paid for or replaced.

Overdue charges and penalties will be incurred for long overdue library items. Charges and penalties for long overdue items are as follows:
  • a $10 charge will be incurred for each item returned to the library 24 or more days after the due date
  • exam results and testamurs will be withheld
  • you will be prevented from re-enrolling or graduating until all overdue charges have been paid.

Note: An appeal may be lodged against the penalty imposed if you believe an error has been made.

Please refer to individual colleges for more specific information
