What counts as recognition towards my course?
Previous TAFE NSW training
Your previous TAFE studies may be the same as, or equivalent to, one or more units in your current study program. If so, you may be eligible for Recognition by Credit Transfer. You can use TAFE NSW
Student e-Services to estimate how much credit you may be entitled to.

Have you studied in another country? Sydney Institute works with state and national organisations in the recognition of overseas qualifications.

Employers and communities see relevant experience as highly valuable in a skills shortage climate. If you have been working in Australia or overseas in an occupation that is relevant to your TAFE NSW qualification, you may have skills and knowledge that can be assessed for recognition. Work experience in other occupations not directly related to your course or program may also be considered.

You may have gained relevant skills through your community or school activities, committee or volunteer work, sports team management, domestic responsibilities or even your hobbies and leisure activities.
